Devlog 4


Hello everyone!

I know it's only been around a week since the last devlog, but I wanted to update you guys on what I've added since the last one as there's been a lot of changes that I've been really proud of.
The first addition is the new UI for the game:

I was never really happy with the old UI (mostly since it was just the built in Godot UI and wasn't very intuitive), so I came up with this version which is hopefully prettier and easier to understand.

The second thing are the new character events.
If certain conditions are met, two or more of the NPCs will be interacting during the day instead of wandering by themselves.

You will be able to hear what they are saying if you get closer.

The third and final thing is something completely new, upgrades!
When you beat any of the two bosses, you will get an upgrade that should make the game easier, the current ones include:
-Magnet: Makes collection range of gold x3 bigger.
-Refinery: You can insert the gold you've accumulated on that day into the refinery, and after hibernating, you can collect x2 of the gold you gave out.
Hopefully these additions can make the game a bit more enjoyable and less grindy.

This is what the refinery looks like. It will be next to your cave when you beat the boss.

There are some more smaller changes too, some include:
-Palm trees that can drop coconuts when broken.
-20% of normal trees will be birch trees, which give more gold when destroyed.
-New fungus vegetation (I think it's best if you see this for yourselves).
-Clouds.

This includes many technical changes as well that can help make adding new features much easier.

Anyway I think that's about it for change, I will continue to make more changes and tell you about them.
Once there is enough for me to be satisfied I will release the next demo of the game. Please feel free to suggest any features you think would fit the game as well.
